Municipal courses, clubs and coaches: tennis options for your child in Antalya and what to look out for.
Antalya’s climate lets children play sport outdoors all year round. In this article we’ve gathered the options and what to look out for when you’re looking for tennis coaching for your child.
Options
The municipality’s free courses
According to news reports from August 2026, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality runs free tennis courses at the Konyaaltı Beach Park courts for the 8–10, 11–14, and 15-and-over age groups. Applications are taken on a quota basis through the municipality’s sports system (genclikspor.antalya.bel.tr). Term dates change, so check the current information with the municipality.
Clubs
Clubs offer regular group programmes, tournament preparation and the chance to train with different age groups.
Private coaches
An approach by age
Young children start with red balls and small courts, older ones with orange and green balls. We explain this system in at what age should children start tennis.
Things to watch out for in Antalya
- Heat: In summer, choose early mornings or evenings.
- Sun: A cap, sunscreen and frequent water breaks are a must.
- Getting there: Choosing a court close to home matters for regular attendance.
Questions for the coach
- What experience do you have working with children?
- How many children are in a group, and are they of similar ages?
- Which balls and racket sizes do you work with?
- Can parents watch the lessons?
